I'm no football commentator but I do wonder whether ousted Wrexham FC manager Denis Smith has been treated fairly considering he stuck by the club during its darkest hour and, I heard on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Wales Good Morning Wales programme today (listen again just after 7.20am), that for two years he had no contract.

A quick trawl of the messageboards shows I'm not alone.

Fans using the forum on the website of fanzine have plenty to say, including one taking the name of Wrexham legend Dixie McNeil who writes: "Losing doesn't mean failure! Bad timing to get rid of a manager - one who has given all to our club."

And on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Wales Match of the Day Wales messageboard, Cwmbwrla Jack writes: "A club pressing the panic button me thinks. Sorry to see Smith lose his job, always comes across as one of the game's good guys."
