The influx of migrant workers is putting pressure on public services such as schools, according to a report in .

Bradford council in West Yorkshire, where nearly 5,000 workers arrived last year, is one of many local authorities experiencing a shortfall of school places in inner-city areas and is to build four new schools, says the website.

In the Wrexham area alone the figure of 10,000 migrant workers and their families is widely quoted.

thisislondon.co.uk goes on to say that Wrexham has reported that its schools are facing a similar pressure - around 50 Polish children started school in September.

Contributors to this website, including migrant workers, have been discussing points around this issue on the page, Understanding our Polish neighbours.
