Campaigners are planning to mount a mass protest to oppose plans for the widening of the A494 at Ewloe & Aston Hill [background info]. The protest will take place outside Deeside Leisure Centre where the plans will be previewed tomorrow by civic leaders before going on public display.

This has certainly been one of the most emotive subjects in the Deeside area, attracting comments on a daily basis. In fact, John wrote in this morning saying: "This week, dozens of people are opening their mail to find - perhaps for the first time - that their homes, farms and businesses are now subject to compulsory purchase."

The has the latest info on the protest plans.

Meanwhile, only this morning while driving to work I heard the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Wales travel report in which they made reference to jam packed Aston Hill & Ewloe junctions - which can be view on our - suggesting something needs to be done, but is a 'motorway', as locals are calling it, the best way forward?
