I suppose it was inevitable that those who find it hardest to articulate their views would resort to intimidation and bullying. Racist graffiti aimed at migrant workers has been daubed around Deeside, reports weekly freebie the .

The issue of migrant workers coming to live and work here was always going to be an emotive subject but, so far, we've largely been able to have a sensible debate about it.

It will be interesting to see if the influx of immigrants - a word in itself that wrongly seems to conjure a negative bias, don't you think - will be an issue in the forthcoming Assembly elections in May.

By the way, I found interesting last week's Week in Week Out TV report about the effects the influx of migrant workers are having on North Wales.

Wrexham's Catholic cathedral, St Mary's, is now packed on Sunday for a service - conducted entirely in Polish. Last year, Polish services were run monthly, attracting 20 people. Now nearly 200 attend the weekly services. The Dean is hopeful that as times goes by the Polish group will integrate with the other church goers.

Also, one housing letting company in Wrexham reckoned nearly half of its business was from Polish people.
