Llan's world music festival seeks pensioners!

With the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod (July 10-15) now 60 years old, the number of people that were involved in the first festivals in 1946/7 or can recall that period, are dwindling.

So Denbighshire Council archivist Kevin Mathias is keen to contact anyone connected to the early years of the world music festival to share memories and any old photos via the eisteddfod website -

Alternatively, share photos and recollections via our local history mini site.

- Did you know that classical album chart-toppers Fron Choir was founded by a group of young men who heard the festival was being set up and was looking for choirs to take part?
