Affordable housing for locals

Don't expect many 'affordable homes' in Wrexham for the next couple of years, says the council leader. Meanwhile, the situation does look a lot brighter in Denbighshire.

Wrexham Council leader Cllr Aled Roberts tells the newspaper the council will not be able to help provide more than a handful of affordable homes in Wrexham in the next two years because of "scandalously low" levels of funding from the Assembly. The announcement comes amid concern that a planned development at Erddig will price locals out of the market.

Meawnhile, the story is all together different in Denbighshire where the county council is introducing an affordable housing policy to favour people who have been living in the area for more than five years, according to .
