A total of £249,000 has been given to community groups in Denbighshire to improve facilities, according to . Here are some headlines:

Prestatyn Athletic Junior Football Club - £40,000 for changing room and toilet facilities
Henllan Football Club - £9,000 towards improvement/development of Top Park
Rhyl Town Council - £50,000 for the War Memorial Garden Refurbishment
Meliden Residents Action Group - £15,000 for environmental improvements
Corwen War Memorial Park - £15,000 for the provision of new playground equipment

Not everyone is happy at the prospect of free cash. I see last night's reported that people turned out to oppose a planned skatepark at Wepre Park which won a Lottery cash handout.
