Great Taste Awards honour local food producers

This year's feature a number of local food producers, including two winners of the coveted three star awards.

Organised by the , the awards have been described as the "Oscars of the food world" and celebrate the diverse range of quality food and drink produced across the UK.

Out of 1,576 food and drink items tasted nationally only 95 were awarded three stars, two of which are produced in Denbighshire, including beef from the , Corwen, and , Denbigh.

Among them, is owned by Charlie Gladstone who says: "Customers love to buy local stuff.

"They understand the value of locally-produced food; they know that - by shopping local - they play a vital role in the local social and economic community.

"And, to boot, they get better, tastier food - and they know where their food has come from."
