World Cup Have Your Say -

Apologies to Paraguay

Amanda, Ben and Stacy-Marie in the studio with Martin Kelner
We like trying new things here on World Cup Have Your Say so this morning on the programme we decided to recreate Group B in our studio.
Well why not? Our presenter Martin likes company and surely it couldn't be that hard to find representatives of Sweden, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago and England.

England was easily sorted with Queens Park Rangers fan Ben. He was particularly keen to take part. Just a theory of mine but maybe it had something to do with the other fans we'd invited in too - Amanda from Sweden and her friend Stacy-Marie of Trinidad and Tobago. She's writing a blog about her country's World Cup fortunes which you can read here
Paraguay though proved to be a problem. Surely in a city as cosmopolitan as London we could find one Paraguayan to represent their nation. I even spoke to a very pleasant man called Alberto at the embassy who informed me there were only 150 Paraguayans living in the UK. He couldn't help either because he had to open up the embassy the following morning . So with those odds I gave up. So apologies to Paraguay - you were not left out on purpose. And if you are that rare breed of a Paraguayan living in the UK email us. You could come fly your flag in our studio ahead of your match against Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday.
Stacy-Marie, Amanda and Ben soon settled into the studio and joined in the footy chat with an erm 'merry' Serbia and Montenegro fan called 'Hoopsie' - apparently it's a nickname paying homage to his goldfish - some Dutch fans dressed up as the Pope and a couple of monks and Argentinian Martin.
Hoopsie was particularly keen to test his vocal chords by serenading Martin with a quick burst of 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina'. We'll see who's crying later.
Anyhow we've decided we quite liked our experiment and are now looking for other fans to join us in our central London studio. If you can get here for 0830BST and are happy to stick around for an hour and talk football then get in touch. Either leave a comment or email us with your name, team and contact details.
If you take part we'll even give you a 大象传媒 World Service World Cup t'shirt. Now you can’t say fairer than that can you.

This game defied the pundits who predicted a 2 to 0 victory by Argentina over Serbia & Montenegro.

There was no denying that Argentina had command of the ball and of the game. Argentina was shooting goals 6 minutes, 30 minutes, 41 minutes, 76 minutes, 83 minutes, 87 minutes to reach its 6 goals and to more than classify for Group C.

While this is a game, I feel sorry for Serbia and Montenegro. It would have been great for them to score or at least attempt a classification. This loss to Argentina sounded the death knell for The Serbia & Montenegro Team and what was left of Yugoslavia.

I think in an important game like the world cup why cant they let the players play on instead of having penelty kicks its ruins the game and take away the opertunities scoring the wining goal for your team, instead of 15 min periods it should be sudden death it better for the gane and does not drag on

Just finished watching first half of semi-final with France and Portugal and believe it or not we are still getting pictures of the English team splashed all over the screen. The team were well beaten and believe it or not OUT of the world cup. It shouldn't be 大象传媒 but EBC (England's broadcasting company) The whole system is so biased and they can't see anything good in any other team. Pathetic!!!
