I’m an Assistant Producer for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sport and primarily work across all our football output, such as Match Of The Day and Football Focus. This will be my first World Cup on site after sampling the delights of the Japan/South Korea tournament from, er, Shepherds Bush.
Four years on and not only do I have the honour of being part of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ blogging team but I’m producing the World Cup Daily for the website and interactive TV. It’ll be a light hearted, behind the scenes look at the greatest show on earth, with help from our presenters, pundits and, of course, your contributions.
As for me, I’ve been with the Beeb pretty much since the late 90s. I blagged (as opposed to blogged) some work experience in the music entertainment department after sweet talking my way backstage at Glastonbury and persuading a production team to take me on.
For the next few years, I worked across live shows and documentaries but once you’ve been privy to pop stars arguing and flirted shamelessly with Bjork whilst interviewing her (I know, totally unprofessional), where can you go from there? The answer, it would appear, is to Berlin. So don’t be a stranger and check back in to get a regular fix of MOTD anecdotes. As they nearly say in these parts, it’s time for achtung stations…
