Goodnight London..Hello New Orleans..

Rabiya Parekh | 00:05 UK time, Saturday, 25 March 2006

Ahhhh! That's what Fiona and I said to each other after the show today. Not just because we had a great show, but because the next time we're on air, we'll be live on air from New Orleans!

But more about that in a moment, back to today. To be honest I wasn't very involved in setting up the days show, but on hearing the voices, it was a top effort all round.

We started off talking about the case of Abdul Rahman, an Afghan man threatened with execution for converting from Islam to Christianity. Abdul Rahman has been a Christian for 16 years. He returned to Afghanistan recently from Germany, and his own family turned him into police.

We spoke to Shaheeda and Batool both in the UK. Shaheeda converted to Christianity from Islam and Batool had turned to Islam from Catholicism 26 years ago. They both talked about the difficulties in getting their families to accept their choices but also differed greatly on just how far ones family should go in trying to understand why a relative has decided to move away from the religion they are born in to.

I was intetested to read the number of emails and texts that came in during the show from Chrsitians in Nigeria. Many of you told us that simply trying to be a practicing Christian in some parts of Nigeria was extremely difficult and in some cases, very dangerous.

We also talked to former hostages Terry Waite and Marie Jeanne Ion abiout what life is like trying to readjust after you have been held captive. Many of you sent in emails saying you thought peacekeepers who went in to places like Iraq were naieve and inconsiderate. to read more comments people have made on the release of the hostages in Iraq.

So that's it for this week. We are all making last minute plans for our. High on the list of priorities is how many pairs of shoes Fiona and I should take, six felt like too many for a 7 day trip but 4 just didn't seem to be enough. I'm sure we'll figure something out. Good luck to Team A who are making their way to New Orleans on Saturday, the rest of us are off to New York on Sunday.

There's still time to let us know if you'd like to take part. Especially if you live in Atlanta, Detriot and New Orleans we'd love to see you down at the venues. Send us an email with your contact details and we'll do our best to get in touch.

Have a great weekend.
