Aid for Africa

In February, we talked to people in East Africa about the drought there, and heard from a man in Somalia who had lost most of his livestock. A caller from the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, told us how food shortages had pushed prices up there and people were struggling to afford the basics.

I'm trying to get in touch with people we talked to then to find out how the past two months have been. The rains have come, but the aid agency Oxfam says that flooding means they've done as much harm as good in the short term and it is in aid to feed 11m people in the region.
