We're talking about a wide range of topics tonight. First we talked about the killing of a former British spy in Northern Ireland and whetherin the light of the marches in Thailand and France.
We also talked about former deputy president of South Africa, that he didn't wear a condom when he had sex with an HIV-positive woman, but he did take a shower. And how much would ?
We spoke to two men on the streets of Belfast who despite the killing remained optimistic about the chances of peace in Northern Ireland. They said the desire for peace was greater than the violence by people they described as terrorists.
Barrow said: "People just want to live in a society that is peaceful."
We also spoke to people who had engaged in protests across the world, from Thailand to Ukraine to student protesters in France. Do they work?
Teresa called in from London: "We all marched against the war in Iraq in London. What difference did it make?"
Our guests were convinced their protest was important. Our e-mailers and those who text messaged us were more sceptical.
Eamonn Rooney in Folkestone, Kent sent us this text message:
Who runs France? the ELECTED government or the UNELECTED students. It was students who ushered in the Islamic government in Iran, and how did that benefit the people of that country?
We also talked about Jacob Zuma, the former deputy president of South Africa, who is on trial for rape. He says the sex, with a woman who is HIV positive, was consensual. but says that he took a shower afterwards.
We received text messages from across Africa. Many of you told us to call you back, and we tried to call as many as possible. Sometimes we just can't through on the phone lines.
Sam Otti sent us this message from Nigeria:
By having casual sex without a condom,Zuma expressed the general ignorance of Africa elites on the scourge of HIV/AIDS.
Mohammed Konneh in Liberia sent us this message:
It is shamfull and disgraceful on the side of Jacob Zuma to have sex a woman with HIV and he should bear the penalty.
Jallow in Gambia had this to say:
Zuma has evaded HIV. The scientists should examine him because he may have the key to solving HIV.
Jude in Nigeria wrote:
Jacob Zuma has only shown that the greatest of men are stil human. He threw caution to the wind to satisfy his sexual urg with a pretty HIV woman
Frank in Ghana told us to back off:
´óÏó´«Ã½ leave Jacob Zuma alone. He is the not the first to have unprotected sex.
We closed out the programme talking about Madonna's new tour. The privilege of seeing the Material Girl will set you back £160 (about $280).
One of the promoters was supposed to join the programme to take calls from angry fans, including Mark Anderson in Newcastle, but he backed out at the last minute.
All the promoter had to say was this: "If you don't want to pay the price of the tickets, then you can go see the Artic Monkeys for 10p."
