The calm after the storm...some early ideas

Priya Shah | 09:05 UK time, Thursday, 14 September 2006

You don't normally get real bona fide thunderstorms in London, but last night was a bit special. At least I thought so. And so today I'm in bright and early to demand some more ideas from you. Any flashes of inspiration? Send them our way.

Here's an interesting idea...

So men get no sex if they continue to be violent, its an old idea, from the ancient Greek play - but does it work? Has anyone else ever tried it? Have you got any other ideas to inspire peaceful ways?

Is Canada talking about the yesterday? . Why this happens remains a mystery, although there is plenty of speculation.

Kofi Annan, the UN Secretary General is to step down at the end of the year - s? Has he been effective in his role? Will he be missed? And who do YOU think should replace him? Send us your suggestions.

It's official, men are smarter than women. Or are they? What do you think? Well, they obviously haven't tested the World Have Your Say team...

It seems a lot of you are concerned about climate change and the melting of the ice caps, as the most read story on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ website is . Thick ice in the arctic has declined by 14% between 2004 - 2005 according to NASA pictures. So does climate change worry you? What do you think should be done? If anything at all? Who is responsible? Tell us your thoughts on this story.

Borat, the sixth most famous man in Kazakhstan, is causing a stir with his latest film: The comic creation of Sacha Baren Cohen AKA Ali G, has managed to infuriate the Kazakh government so much that it will be discussed at a summit between George Bush and President Nazarbayev.

Mark sent us this comment this morning:

I just wanted to know whether Israel officially recognises the existence of Palestine. We're hearing a lot about Hamas not recognising the existence of Israel, but I don't really know what that means. So the answer to this question might help to put it into a context I can understand.

At a meeting of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund in Singapore, the UK isit had that the Bank is forcing too many conditions on aid given to poorer countries. Is this enough?

And as violence continues in Afghanistan, the NATO demand for more troops has been partially met by Poland, who said they will send 1000 troops early next year. But its still not enough. What has happened to all those pledges of support from NATO members 5 years ago? Is is the alliance disintegrating? What about the fate of Afghanistan? Any thoughts?
