Morning Blog world. How's it going? After a brief break away I'm back and raring to go. I've just been to the US Embassy in London to pick up my visa for our up coming trip to the States. Here's what's about today....
I mention this first, not because I think that we're going to lead on it, or for that matter because I think we're even going to do the story. I mention it because reading it on the train this morning I got really annoyed and i'd love to hear if you think i'm over reacting about this. The i'm referring to is the episode ofaired this week in America, in which the recently deceased naturalist Steve Irwin (a.k.a the Crocodile Hunter) was featured, in cartoon form, with a Stingray sticking out of his chest in an episode called '. Bearing in mind that he was killed by a Stingray's barb in his chest just 8 weeks ago, i'd love to know if you think this is a bit too much too soon? Or if i'm being an over sensitive wimp?
On last night's show we spoke about the Islamic cleric in Australia who compared women without the veil to "uncovered meat". You really seemed to go for this story, have a look at some of the comments from last night and you'll know what I mean. the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, has warned government ministers against telling Muslim women, or for that matter any one, what not to wear. This debate has been ongoing for a while, but it consistently gets you talking and commenting. Any more thoughts on how we could do it differently today and the questions we might ask would be more than welcome.
