Help choose today's stories now...

Ros Atkins Ros Atkins | 11:21 UK time, Monday, 13 November 2006

Tired but happy here we are back in London. And having sat in cramped smelly bus for 45 minutes this morning, suddenly hanging around in a Toledo gas station for 4 hours didn't seem so bad. It was a thrilling week in the States (if you want to look back here are all the shows - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday), and we're very grateful to all you who came along and contributed to the shows. I really hope we can stay in touch with you all.

Anyway, to use some football parlance, you're only as good as you're last show and we're just beginning today's Morning Meeting to work out what to look at tonight. Click here to find out how the meeting works and how to contribute, or read on to see what we're talking about today.

So we've James, Hasit, Rabiya, Paul, Rozita, Anna and Joseph (who's going to be doing work experience with us for the next three weeks- welcome Joe).

James ran through some of the stories he'd spotted this morning. The one that grabs us the prospect of Iran and Syria to talk about the situation in Iraq. Tony Blair is going to support the idea as well tonday. We're not all sure if this is too different to lots of programmes we've done on Iraq. I think this offers something different though. I spent a lot of time last week asking Americans what they wanted to do in Iraq now. I'd be interested to ask the same of Iranians and Syrians.

Next up Hasit want to talk about the Kenyan to Somalia. It's all tied into the situation there and also the import of Khat.

Anna been following a row here after a football manager has got himself into after saying women should not be refereeing football matches. He certainly didn't mince his words ('I am sexist' he proclaimed)... but was he right to pick up on the issue? Are you happy to see women reffing football in your country? I love this story and hope we go for it. There were no shortage of folks on Five Live this morning who sympathised with him - and also on the online debate. That said he's already looking on the back foot and we're expecting a press conference at 4 o'clock this afternoon. I'd expect a sheepish apology but I might be wrong.

Paul causes more disagreement with a suggestion that we discuss a website called . It's self-explanatory and it seems lots of people have been enjoying tearing a strip off old trachers. Maybe not so funny for the teachers involved. Some of us are wondering what exactly we'd ask, but Paul says he'd judt want to hear from teachers who have made an appearance and some of the pupils who are maiking them squirm. I'm interested but it may not make the show. Rabs is in charge and she's got a furrowed brow.

One last thing. Alastair Leithead is a braver man than me. He's one of our main news correspondents and has spent with UK troops in Afghanistan. We asked him last week if he'd be interested in taking questions from you and was very interested. We're going to see if he can come on the show tonight. If not hopefully later in the week.

I'll let you know what we've chosen in an a bit.

Speak to you later.
