The Pastor and the Imam and a very secular Xmas

Rabiya Parekh | 12:03 UK time, Tuesday, 5 December 2006

Baa humbug...No Christmas decorations in some offices Quite a religious theme to the programme today. Two stories have made it on to the running order, although if you think there is something else we should be talking about, get in touch.

Lights out for Christmas

As David mentioned in his early post, a new survey of Britain employers has found that 75% are banning Christmas trees, lights and other decorations from the office out of concern of offending employees from other faiths.

Are they right to do so? What is the policy on Christmas decorations where you work? We will try and hear from some of those employers who say that this year, it has to be a very merry secular Xmas..

A new premieres in London this weekend, featuring the two Nigerian religious leaders who have buried their past as militia leaders and are now campaigning for religious reconciliation.

In the 1990's Imam Muhammad Ashafa and Pastor James Wuye, led opposing armed militias, dedicated to defending their respective communities as violence broke out in Kaduna, northern Nigeria.

But now the two men are co-directors of the Muslim-Christian Interfaith Mediation Centre in their city, leading task-forces to resolve conflicts across Nigeria..

They'll be taking your calls on the show tonight so send us your questions and thoughts. What could this film potentially do for inter-faith dialogue in Nigeria? What is the situation between the two feuding milita's now, can you tell us?
