Bollywood blues
Help! It's Rabiya here in Mumbai. You may remember a few blog posts back that I said there was some good news on the horizon to do with our ISDN lines, which are basically our radio link to the rest of the world. That was all totally premature, since we still don’t have working lines in, and we’re on air in 6 hours.
Apparently the lines are a ‘bit full’ so the telecoms people have to re-wire. They said that it would take half an hour, but three hours in there is still no sign of any functioning lines... On a scale of one to ten, my stress levels have peaked at about 12 and the amplifier is now broken... My colleagues will agree that I've been rather grumpy.
All not not totally lost though, as we have a few other magic pieces of kit that will do us, but if only the lines…Humph.
Anyway, once all of that is sorted out, we can start looking at what you guys want to talk about on the show tonight - it's the first of two from Mumbai.
One of our excellent contacts out here has been rounding up a few ideas over the last few weeks, and we have it narrowed down to about 15! Among my favourites are women’s rights, live-in relationships in India, the environment, teachers' roles in creating a responsible society, cricket, and patriotism.
Well, it’s your show, so let us know what you want to talk about too. When the rest of the team get here we’ll be able to narrow it down further but there’s still time to get your suggestions in.
Fingers crossed, and I’ll let you know how I’m getting on soon!
