Back to the day job

Peter van Dyk | 09:55 UK time, Tuesday, 27 March 2007

It's my first day back after the US trip. Of course, our flights were delayed, and the adrenalin of being on the road and meeting listeners has long faded, so jet lag and general tiredness created a serious need for sleep. Or something beyond sleep.

But I've had my day off and am officially recovered. It's a new day and there's plenty to talk about. Apparently the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s domestic audience loathed the coverage of the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade. What did you think?

The top story right now: The "Australian Taleban" David Hicks, the first Guantanamo terror suspect to face a new trial system, to a charge of providing material support for terrorism.

Well, that's the top story on the web site. The World Service is going with - foreign journalists have been allowed into the country for an Armed Forces Day parade and to see Naypyidaw.
