Faze 2 - Nigerian fare

Fiona Crack | 18:04 UK time, Monday, 23 April 2007

Half of our team have gone to Faze 2 in Kilburn, West London, for some Nigerian food. Ok, well actually, they've invited about 30 Nigerians who live in London to talk amongst themselves, and to Nigerians across the World, about the elections. I'm in the office (with no Nigerian food) reading your texts and emails.

You can ask them a question or join in the conversation by posting your comment here or sending us an email.

When he was in his prime, I believe Boris Yeltsin could have drunk any world leader you'd care to name right under the table - a true Russian if there ever was one...

ABDELILAH, MOROCCO.
Boris Yeltsin, despite his shortcomings as a president, will be remembered as one of the heroes of modern. Russia. Maybe the best legacy he left was Vladimir Putin, who has seen his popularity ascending with time.

Anon - Nigeria
It's all politics!.Rigged or not, there are no guarantees that the other politicians will offer more than the returned winner. Let's stop the bickering & move on.

Fatima in mauritania.
As a peace corps volunteer in a rural village, the B´óÏó´«Ã½ is often the only english i hear for weeks at a time. That makes you all feel like family. So while i have never met alan, i am deeply saddened by his disappearance, and i pray he will be reunited with his own family very soon.

Let us learn2win with dignity & lose gallantly. Yar'Adua's won!. Let's not dissipate energy fighting ,but instead channel it in2workin 2move Nigeria fwd.

Paul, USA
What would have been a suprise is if the opposition candidate had won. The election was decieded long ago. This election has taken us back ten years.

Hi guys, lubna, iraq, corrupt elections can really distort the concept of democracy in the minds of people, there should be a re-run of the elections, please my Nigerian friends, learn from the iraqi experiment, dont seek elections of whatever quality, but of good quality, guys, are you eating Nigerian food?

ANON
The winner was pre ordained by the government & party but the low turn out speaks tons about a rerun!

ISSAC
My Nigeria friend told me politicians in his country are criminals whatever side they're on. And he's not going to waste time voting for people who are only interested the well being of their immediate families.

RICHARD - LAGOS NIGERIA
Bravo to the Electoral Commission, News Media and the Electorate, Long live Nigeria.

KINDAMA, FREETOWN.
The elections in Nigeria are flawed and must be considered null and void.

LEYLAND - USA
Having another rigged election in Nigeria is not going to be useful at all. Peace may be more important than democracy at the moment in Nigeria, since fair elections seem impossible.

JIMAM - UNIVERSITY OF JOS IN NIGEIRA
I agree that the elections have been flawed but despite all this I strongly feel the they should not be cancelled because there are some positives. In my state Plateau, we voted the current Deputy Senate President out of office despite the Millions he spent.

THIS DISCUSSION ABOUT A RIGGED ELECTION IN AN AFRICAN BACKWATER IS OF NO INTEREST TO THE REST OF YOUR LISTENERS. MICHAEL IN HOLLAND Michael

Daniel lawal from China
It just unfortunate that the leaders of Nigeria continued to paint the citizens bad infront of the international community.EU should sanction all of the Obasanjo govt.

Tita
The ballot papers had on serial numbers,on that basis n that basis aloof the court can annull the elections.

Abiola(ipswich)
We knew the winner b4 the election! Why the argument!

Dr Nzewi
It appears that the PDP out-rigged the other parties. They all did. Whoever wins let it be. Nigeria must progress.

D southeast of Nigerian has 4 the past 8yrs been neglectd 2 suffer lack of infrastructure n unemployment. We hope d new government 'll address dis issue.I

ANON
All hail president YARADUA of NIGERIA.

Titus O. Oguejiofor from Anambra State.
There was no election in Nigeria, the incoming Government must fail within months.

Musa Akko Gombe Nigeria...
The elections were rigged people were denied to vote.

Karo Umukoro, Nigeria
Even if we add all the other losing parties votes, they won't equal to the winning party's votes. So let all Nigerians accept this result.
