The hurricane continues...

| 09:06 UK time, Tuesday, 21 August 2007

Hurricane Dean, not content with the destruction it caused in the Caribbean yesterday, , having hit the "potentially catastrophic" category 5 mark. I heard a very optimistic sounding Cancun resident on the radio this morning tell how the resort is more than prepared for the storm to hit.

I'm sure we'll try and and talk to people there to see if they are. What else would you like to hear about today?

Cut aid to Zimbabwe?
Zimbabwean opposition MP David Coltart, says Zimbabweans are starving to death on a scale equivalent to genocide. UK MP Kate Hoey, , says we must stop footing the bill for Robert Mugabe's tyranny to continue:

The greatest irony of the 'African crisis that needs an African solution' myth is that the endlessly demonised UK and US administrations are picking up the bill

We heard from our very own African summit on Friday's programme. Let us know what you think of Kate Hoey's comments.

Australian MP's like stripclubs
. John Howard's greatest political rival, and conservative Christian ("Saint") Kevin Rudd, was caught in a stripclub in New York, and has said he was too drunk to remember being there.

I can imagine the reaction of fellow Mp's in the UK, but Rudd's Australian counterparts have rushed to his defence, admitting they have also visited strip joints. I wander what our antipodean audience make of it? (three callers to last night's show from Australia). One comment to The Times article from Kerryn, Melbourne, Australia...

Who cares? As an Australian voter I have more important things to consider in the lead up to the next election. Frankly, I don't think many other voters will care either. We care about the climate, education, health care and the economy

Neo-Nazi attacks
by 50 people chanting Neo-Nazi slogans. The government of Berlin are apparently starting to worry about the rise in nationalism. Is this a one off, or a worrying trend, not just in Germany?

Britian's very own opposition leader David Cameron, , and . Can we link all these stories and discuss them today?

Sarkozy tough stance on paedophiles
to deal with sex offenders following admissions by a prison doctor that he prescribed Viagra to a serial child molester accused of attacking a boy after his release. Sarkozy says tagging, and chemical castration will be used in some cases.

Cyprus talks
unless the Greek and Turk conflict is resolved soon. Mark says we have looked at this on the programme before, it's not a conflict I know a huge amount about so I'd be interested in hearing more on the show today. What do you think?
