Should the world worry about Iran?

Ros Atkins Ros Atkins | 15:13 UK time, Tuesday, 18 September 2007

We are off air now, but please continue to post your comments here.

ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT IRAN? (and that includes those of you in Iran)
The French Foreign Minister, Bernard Kouchner, has suggested that the world should prepare for war over Iran's nuclear ambitions. Mohamed ElBaradei is the head of the IAEA (The UN's nuclear watchdog). He says . Next to mention is General Petraeus who said that Iran was supporting militia in the south of Iraq. I could go on.

Iran is on the minds of the world's power-brokers and on your minds too. Hundreds of you . But not just because everyone is concerned - there are plenty of you who are furious with the West for what you see as scare stories to help justify an aggressive foreign policy. So who's getting this right? Is Iran a reason for concern?

TALK TO BRITAIN'S FOREIGN SECRETARY
While I'm in Namibia, Anu will be making my eyes green by going to the Foreign Office on Thursday so that you can speak to the British Foreign Secretary David Miliband. If you'd like to send him a message or speak to him directly, get in touch.

DOES SPORT REALLY HELP SOCIETY?
WHYS producer Martin is about to head to Heathrow and fly to Namibia. I'm following suit tomorrow. We're going to visit a major sporting conference which is exploring how sport can help societies develop. There will be lots of people on the show who'll argue sport can make a real difference, but do you think that spending the money on housing, healthcare and education might make even more of a difference?

Here's Martin's post:
