Should the world bail out Haiti again?

haitireconstruction.jpgDonors are today to raise more money for Haiti's reconstruction. The Haitian government is asking for nearly $4 bn. But with millions already donated, why should the world give more?

The amount is just a third of what's needed to get the country onto it's feet and past experiences have shown that aid has done very little to fix Haiti's problems.

After all, there is real potential for growth in post-earthquake Haiti. It all depends however on effective donor-backed reconstruction.
