Does the universe need a creator?

If your answer to these questions is God, the latest book by eminent might make you think twice. Prof. Hawking has revealed that modern physics has no place for the God when it comes to the creation of the universe.
So if God didn't create the universe, who did?
According to Prof. Hawkings, the Big Bang was an inevitable result of the law of physics, but some remained unfased by this latest line.
For others, like Hawking's views do they rule out the existence of God.
Dani in Belgium isn't impressed with the revelation. She tweets,
'The universe was not created by God! Well Mr Stephen Hawkings, I don't need your extra 500 points in IQ to figure that one out! '
agrees but admires the mature approach adopted by Prof. Hawking when it comes to religion. He prefers to adopt a more relaxed approah to learning about our origins.
'Okay, so the universe doesn't need to have been created by God. So did God create the universe? We don't know. Same as we didn't know yesterday; or before Newton formulated .. How can you find something if you've no notion what you're looking for?... Ultimately, the only thing we can be (reasonably) sure of is that it's here, and we're here, and it was created or brought into existence by whatever created it or brought it into existence. Maybe one day we'll find out what that was - and then all we'll need to do is work out what caused the cause, and what caused the cause of the cause, and... Or we could just say "there was no cause; it just happened". Which, if you think about it, is really only a secular variant on "God Did It".'
Is believing in God the easy or even lazy answer to understanding the origins of our universe? Is the creation of our universe and origins our existence too mind boggling to leave to science?
