Is technology making cowards of us all?

Pop stars hurling abuse, president's ticking off politicians and sportsmen telling their managers exactly what they think of them -the Twitter tirade seems to be a popular option for getting things off your chest.

Russia's President Medvedev has used caught Tweeting in the middle of Kremlin meeting. The Russia President posted that the politician in question obviously had 'nothing more important to do.'

In the sports world, English cricket batsman is facing disciplinary action over an aggressive Twitter outburst following his dismissal from the national team. are asking whether sports stars be banned from Twitter.

Over on the pop scene, has been criticised for an alleged earlier this week. . Meanwhile are currently fighting an open battle with music festival organisers on Twitter.

But it's not just Twitter - what about those people who are dumped by text or on Facebook?

Are we afraid of confrontation? Or is this technology making our lives easier by giving us all a bit of distance to cool down?
