Nearly 5 years in the making, Dangermouse and Daniele Luppi finally deliver their passion project; 'Rome'. Featuring Jack White this wide screen spaghetti western inspired itaian move music, sound like your cup of tea? Seriously check this out...
The mighty Foo Fighters and their mighty sound are back with their album opener 'Bridge Burning' - and what a monster it is. Full of riff and melody and everything you've come to expect from Dave Grohl. Soak it up.
It's funny how when an artist like Justice returns with new music, that hype and excitement returns so quickly. Justice more than most of their peers in dance music seem to harness this energy really effectively, this boils down to the music and the way they bring it to us. In this case, a big corporate brand endorsement and unwavering support form the online community have made 'Civilization'; seem like the second coming. True it's big, bold and ambitious and I'm excited to hear more.
The wonderful Death Cab For Cutie return with the first single off their next album, 'Codes and Keys'. 'You Are A Tourist' fits the band's desciption for the new record, letting the guitars embelish and the mood lighten. It's a great return.
If you're a fan of Example then you gotta be happy with this one... A monster return full of all the lessons he's learned from the last 18 months.. From the song writing to the singing, to the wide screen production of Michael Woods, This is NEXT LEVEL.
These days Deadmau5 picks his remix commissions sparingly. This on the other hand is a phone call the Mau5 took and ran with. A smattering of DFA 1979, a pinch of Friendly Fires & a whole heap on 'Mau5. LISTEN.
I can't speak for anyone else but this week feels like spring has taken hold and wouldn't you know it times perfectly with the return of Friendly Fires. And you thought the first album was full of joyful spirit then wait till you here this... 'Live Those Days Tonight' is one of this years festival anthems, so given.
Back to the beautiful pace of Fleet Foxes who deliver another lovely piece of music from their album 'Helplessness Blues', this one titled 'Battery Kinzie'.
Hi, Huw here in for Zane. Tonight's Hottest is courtesy of one of dances most dynamic duos. Collaborations, chart hits, club bangers. Nothing is beyond our beloved Chemical Brothers... This is from the soundtrack of a forthcoming movie 'Hannah' by 'Atonement' director - Joe Wright. Sounds snazzy, huh?
Huw here in for Zane. Bands don't come much more interesting, warped, extraordinary and pleasantly challenging than NYC's Battles. Every record is awaited with baited breath, and so enjoy tonight's Hottest - Ice Cream by one hell of a band.
Hey, Huw here in for Zane. James Mercer from the Shins and Danger Mouse are back with a track that takes what we loved about their debut album of last year, turn the heat up a little and add a little funk. Bodes well for the new ep that drops end of March!
Hello, Huw here in for Zane. The powerful new single from We are the Ocean - The Waiting Room - is tonight's hottest record. First play from their forthcoming second album, out in April, and a perfect taster of ther live show. Catch them on tour with Funeral for a Friend and their own headline dates. Expect big things!
Huw here again! Tonight's Hottest Record was the return of one of my favourite bands - Wild Beasts. After the Mercury nominated 'Two Dancers' they've made a new album out in the wilds of Wales and this first track sees the welcome return of their beautiful, haunting melodies. If you like slower, spaced out, melancholic music like The XX, James Blake and jamie Woon then dive head-first into the world of The Wild Beasts - you won't be dissapointed.
Hello, Huw here in for Zane. Sometimes, it takes an artist like Tune Yards, and a song like Gangsta, to remind you of the possibilities there are in music. California's Merril Garbus has a second album coming out through the legendary 4AD label in April, and we're reliably informed that this sounds like nothing on the rest of the album. A forward thinking musician not afraid to experiment, and thank goodness for that.
Hello, Huw here in for Zane. After the first new track from The Strokes, Under the Cover of Darkness landed and pleased all devoted followers, 'You're So Right' has arrived and has shocked! Forward thinking, experimental and not at all what we expected from them, personally I'm glad they've tried and succeeded with something different to what we're used from them. And I won't mention Radiohead
