The staple in the biggest clubs around the world for close to a year now. Tonight's Hottest Record gives an official release and some context, for Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso's calling. Getting people warmed up for the Swedes in Milton Keynes later this year and also reminding fans that the House Mafia are the sum of all parts.

It happens very rarely, but when it does its worth shouting about. Two Hottest Records Tonight, each as exciting and newsworthy as each other. Yet both as deep and considered as each other also. Only mention this because the return of Jack White and M.I.A. would normally herald two very high energy sounding records but not this time. In two exclusive interviews for the show on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 1, both artists talked about finding a new voice on these forthcoming albums, perhaps that explains the lack of showing off displayed on here. Exciting none the less.

What seems like an unlikely collaboration between Ed and US rapper Yelawolf will infact come as no surprise to fans of Ed as we already know how much of a fan of rap music he is. Tonight's Hottest Record also comes as no surprsie to us here at the show because Ed told us about it off-air at the end of last year. What is a surprise however is the speed at which its been turned around and the time it took to record. 10 hours, 4 songs, 2 guys. 1 price...free. Enjoy.

A band 'obsessed with their own band'. A self-description form Steven in Blood Red Shoes and a healthy mantra for all who venture into this mad world of songs and shows. Blood Red Shoes have consistantly delivered with better songs and better performances and this is the stuff that careers are made of. Check out 'Cold' right here on the Hottest Records Blog.

This Thursday we venture outside the studio and take the music on the road to Hull!
Joining us at the legendary Adelphi will be two Introducing artists and headliners Pulled Apart By Horses in what will ultimately be our first new music event of the year.
In a venue as historical as this, where so many important artists have taken to the stage, it feels right to be 'introducing' a lot of you to new music right upfront. If you were lucky enough to get tickets, come with open ears and an open mind.
If you're going to listen to it elsewhere, we will be monitoring your feedback online. For this is the modern way.
A few words from Ladyhawke ahead of her Hottest Record tonight - 'Black, White & Blue'. The song itself is a nice mix of dusty lo-fi and the polished disco-pop that is already a solid foundation for her sound. Look out for her new album 'Anxiety' soon.

Don't be fooled by the big smiling melody line and the distinctive catchiness of tonights Hottest Record. Miike Snow have constructed a classic juxtaposed pop song here with a sing along qualitites being equally matched by the dark twist in the lyrics. A timeless combination once again effortlessly executed.

Big in the mornings with Moyles and a big breakthough on the horizon which is bittersweet for an artist that has constantly created inspiring music. Tonight's Hottest Record is M83 - 'Midnight City' (Eric Prydz remix) putting us right in the middle of the dancefloor.

No beating around the bush with Sleigh Bells album #2 if the title is anything to go by. Get ready for the 'Reign of Terror' but don't be too scared as tonight's Hottest Record 'Comeback Kid' proves once again that pop music runs deep in the veins of this uniquely noisey duo. Innovators.

London 5 piece Zulu Winter kick start their year with one of their newest compositions and it sounds like it. Caterwauling melodies and a steady driving pace give this reflective song enough propulsion to be danceable but never detracting from the emotion of the song. A nice combination if you can achieve it.
