Being born and brought up in Dewsbury Marlene is one of the town's biggest fans.

She has never wanted to live anywhere else and takes us on a tour of some of the听 places that have a special significance for her.

She remembers going to the market with her mother when she was a little girl and says that the market still attracts coachloads full of people.

She is a tireless campaigner for the area and is always looking at ways to improve the town. She helped raise funds to build a community centre in Thornhill Lees and spends much of her time there with the youngsters and youth workers.听
