They believe that despite problems in the area like unemployment and crime, the town has lots to offer and the centre helps bring people together.
Sue Friday and Stuart Rowling work at Thornhill Lees Community Centre in Dewsbury. There's loads going on at the centre! They both enjoy their work and say there's a good community feeling to the town - children will walk home together and make sure they are safe. They say the town is not without its problems. There's a high level of unemployment so parents struggle to give their children want they need materially. Stuart听 believes that due to the events the centre has held youngsters from different cultural backgrounds have come together. People have learned to live together Sue and Stuart say Dewsbury is not what people perceive it to be. They say people are not uneducated - they know what they want from life and how to get it.
