Last
year was a season of highs and lows for the U's. A new manager was
appointed - John (Shaggy) Taylor - who helped them get all the way
to Cardiff for the LDV final. Sadly all the feng shui didn't help
and they lost to Blackpool 4-1. The U's just couldn't get that elusive
away win and were doomed to relegation.
Will
the U's perform better in Division 3? Can they spring back up straight
away?

Kitson - a great display and goal to celebrate your birthday. Keep
it up, we owe Hartlepool one after the game on the 28th of December.
Good luck for Saturday 25th January. Win or lose, I'll keep on supporting
the U's. Barry Moore, Cambridge
I
would like to say that the U's played brilliantly on Saturday and
we should of won. Shane Tudor and Tom Youngs played really well
and Tudes deserved a goal. Bring on Millwall !!! BM, Essex
Well !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Boxing Day, The U's have gained a point playing
Southend, and move into the top 3. Lets hope the recent successful
results continue and we make a fight of it for automatic promotion.
Fingers Crossed........... Geoff, Cambridge
I
don't think it would be good for CUFC to go up. Division 3 is our
natural level, and we'd just come down again. It's much more fun
in Div 3, as we can win a few games, and entertain fans much more
than against better teams in Division 2 - we just all get depressed
there. Jim, Histon
Brings
a smile to may face every Sunday morning when i check the U's results
on the internet. Hard being on the other side of the world from
the mighty U's, although i do get to watch the Auckland Kingz (they
are worse than Peterboring!) Perhaps Shaggy and the lads can come
over here for a pre-season friendly? Nick Maltby, Auckland, New Zealand
You're all mad. The U's will prove all the critics wrong and bounce
straight up into Div 2, as well as making it to at least the 5th
round of the FA Cup, winning the LDV and our brilliant young players
winning the Youth Cup! A bit of optimism dosen't hurt! Oli, Cambridge
Great that Shane Tudoor has signed a new contract even though he
will have moved on to a higher level well before it comes up for
renewal. When was the last time United had a player that immediately
creates a buzz in the ground whenever he gets the ball? Terry Lawson, South Cambs
RE: Staying Alive - Football in Crisis (大象传媒 Radio Cambridgeshire,
20th November)
The overall message being sent out tonight is positive about the
future of Cambridge United.听 However, unless we've missed something
there is an underlying debt of 拢1.1m from last year and a probable
loss of 拢600k this year.听 What if a player is not sold in January?听
Many clubs will have young and promising players available - supply
may be greater than demand.听 It seems that the club is relying on
an extremely uncertain event. 听 Has a new source of cash been found
to cover the losses of last season and this? Tim Saunders, Season ticketholder and CFU member

We'll see you in the Conference. Cambridge City - up the Lilywhites, London
The youngsters are doing O.K but they are still just that 'youngsters',
maybe another couple of seasons and us super U's may get back to
the glory days. Keep up the good work boys and I'll be there to
support you in the playoffs just as I am every week. Pauline , Newmarket
DAVE KITSON IS MAGIC IF HE IS NOT SCORING GOALS HE MAKES THE GOALS
FOR OTHERS DAVE YOUR TOP MAN .KEEP IT UP. PERHAPS OTHERS WILL FOLLOW
YOUR WORK RATE. BARRY MOORE, CAMBRIDGE
Mark (Nottingham) Well, thanks for dropping by the Abbey, as for
the stand, well, I haven't built one personally, but there is now
a new one, You can come and visit next season after we are promoted,
unless of course you are going where we are now !!!! Geoff, Cambridge
Maybe
it is better for us to stay in Div 3 for a couple years wilst we
build up this promising young team? pelham, Cambridge
I'm
a Notts County fan and I came to your ground last season. I wondered
if you had built a new stand behind one of the goals as your ground
looked awful last year. Good luck in your attempt to come straight
back up. Mark, Nottingham
Sorry. Jenny I agree with Dennis you are a girl and no nothing adout
football long live shaggy. PHIL, PETERBOROUGH
I think
the signs are promising. Key players seem to be hitting top form
and finding the net - Kitson, Riza, Youngs etc - and they actually
want to play for Shaggy. Worrying signs like the first half at Southend
urge caution, but I think we will probably go back up. Then, with
no extra investment, we'll come straight back down again! Tim, Cambridge
Can
you tell me what game your reporter was watching vs Orient. How can
they have just about deserved the win when your goalkeeper was made
man of the match.Biased reporting just deludes the average supporter
into thinking their team is better than they are. Paul Watts, Peterborough
It
could be worse ,you could be supporting leicester city.its going
to be a hard season 4 us to get back up especially now as everyone
is up for sale Daimien, melton mowbray.porkpie.com.
We'll make the play-offs at least this season and with Omar, Armand
and Dave upfront supported by Tom we've got a front line to be jealous
of, our defense aint bad either... COME ON YOU U'S!!!! Dave, Buckingham

Not a chance of returning to Division 2! Although judging by the
start to our season, we'll be joining you down there! Samantha Arnold, Peterborough
The only way the U's will get back up to Division 2 is with 拢拢拢
which is something they do not have. Doomed for Division 3 and if
not... the Nationwide Conference beckons. Ben, Cambridge
why don't you just sell all the players and give the money to the
hiomeless you should atleast get a couple of pound for the whole
team. Seb Bloom, Cambs
Jenny are you on something. WE LOVE SHAGGY. p.s i may live in Boro
but i'm Cambridge through and through. Dennis, P/boro
Not
an intelligent comment from Huntingdon Andy Tunnicliffe, Fen Drayton
Win
or lose support the U's! Barry, Cambridge
I hope
they survive the season!!!! especially after the demise of ITV Digital.
I wish the U's Good Luck for the forthcoming season and indeed for
the future. Geoff, Cambridge
Do
you think we'll get an away win this season? Ben, Cambridge
What is that Jenny Gunn on about? Shaggy's a great bloke and I love
his dog Scooby, too.
Katy Lewis, St Albans
Get rid of that Shaggy chap and bring in someone who can get us
back into Division Two.
Jenny Gunn, Huntingdon
