Bullying - seven little things which can make a massive difference

Bullying – sometimes it can feel like such a huge issue that it’s hard to know how to tackle it. But as with a lot of big problems, sometimes it’s the little things which can make a massive difference. If you see bullying happening, here are some things you can do –

1. Call it out

Sometimes it just takes one person to say ‘Hey, that was pretty mean, actually…’

2. Don't like it? Don't 'like' it

Seen something unkind online? Steer clear of that laughing emoji.

3. Smile!

Sometimes a smile is all a person needs to know they’re not alone.

4. It's good to include

If someone is on their own, invite them to join you – for lunch, football, gaming, whatever.

5. Not fair? Don't share

A note, a picture, a rumour – if it doesn’t seem right, don’t pass it on.

6. Take two minutes

A quick chat or ‘hey, are you OK?’ might just make someone’s day.

7. Speak out

If you think someone’s being bullied, don’t keep it quiet! Tell someone you trust.
