What is the difference between mountain gorillas and lowland gorillas?
Mountain gorillas have darker and thicker fur, and lowland gorillas are usually slimmer and have a greyish colour.聽

They live in central Africa, where there are lots of rainforests. This is why they like to eat all sorts of plants! Their climbing skills are also important to reach the top of the trees.

Which category of animals to gorillas belong to?
Like monkeys, gorillas belong to a category of animals called 'primates'. However they're not monkeys, they're apes. This family includes chimpanzees, orangutans, gibbons and humans!聽

What is a silverback gorilla?
They have silver hair on their backs, and they are the head of the group. Their role is to look after everyone and they can weigh up to 200kgs! They can be twice the size of females, making them dimorphic.聽
