Get to know the Moon and Me characters
Meet Pepi Nana, Moon Baby, Little Nana, Lambkin, Colly Wobble, Mr Onion, Sleepy Dibillo and Lily Plant.
Moon and Me is a classic series of gentle stories about a ‘family’ of comical toy friends living in a Toy House, and the adventures they all share with a magical visitor from the Moon, Moon Baby. Pepi Nana is a very magical toy - at night, when the Moon shines, she comes to life. Pepi Nana begins every episode by sitting down at her desk and writing a magical letter to the Moon. Moon Baby, her magical new friend, receives the letter, and visits the Toy House for tea and a story.
Meet Pepi Nana
Pepi Nana is the favourite doll of the child we see putting her to bed in the Toy House at the beginning of every Moon and Me episode.
Pepi Nana is a very magical toy - at night, when the Moon shines, she comes to life. Pepi Nana begins every episode by sitting down at her desk and writing a magical letter to the Moon.
Pepi Nana is very clever. She loves to read books, draw pictures and she is very good at making things. She loves stories, and she loves to ‘do things together’ with her friends who live in the Toy House. Her favourite phrase is ‘Tiddle toddle!’
Meet Moon Baby
Moon Baby lives on the Moon. Happy and affectionate, he expresses himself by clapping his hands and blowing kisses. At the beginning of every episode of Moon and Me, Moon Baby receives a letter from Pepi Nana, inviting him for tea and a story. He excitedly puts on his yellow gloves, pulls up his hood, and flies down from the Moon to visit the Toy House. Moon Baby keeps a magical kalimba in his pocket. By playing different magical tunes on it, he can call on the Moon to make magical things happen.
Meet Little Nana
Little Nana is a tiny doll with a big personality. She sleeps in a tiny box, among the toy bricks and cotton reels in the Toy House attic. Little Nana’s favourite phrase is ‘Poop-poop!’ She hops and jumps about everywhere she goes. She often rides on the back of her best friend, Lambkin.
Meet Lambkin
Lambkin is a little blue push-along lamb with bright red wheels. Lambkin loves to go gambolling and wheeling around everywhere with best friend, Little Nana. Lambkin loves to share a book or to draw a picture with Little Nana. Lambkin’s favourite phrase is ‘Baaa!’
Meet Mr Onion
Comical Mr Onion is kind and caring, polite and sometimes a little fussy. His favourite phrase is ‘Onions!’ He cares very much about his friends, and is especially devoted to his best friend Sleepy Dibillo. Mr Onion brings Sleepy Dibillo along with him everywhere he goes, by pulling him along on his pillow. Mr Onion loves to read books, and to play with his Toy Bridge.
Meet Sleepy Dibillo
Dibillo – known as Sleepy Dibillo – is almost always asleep, often snoring loudly throughout the story. Dibillo can do things with his ears without waking up. He uses his ears to hold things, and to play the drums in the Toy Band. He enjoys reading books, and likes to be close to his best friend, Mr Onion. On special days, he likes to wear his yellow bow tie.
Meet Colly Wobble
Colly Wobble likes to do everything the wrong way round or upside down. She loves to stand on her head and show the smiley faces on the soles of her Colly Wobble shoes. She loves to read books, especially if she can hold them upside down!
Colly Wobble ‘talks’ by ‘jangling her tinkles’. She has lost one of the tinkles on her left sleeve – only a yellow thread shows where it once was attached.
Meet Lily Plant
Lily Plant is a very polite, helpful and knowledgeable knitted pot-plant, with a big red flower. She lives in a pot in the Toy House sitting room. She likes to call everybody ‘my dear’. Lily Plant’s favourite thing of all is to be ‘pretend-watered’ with the toy watering can.
