Are you looking forward to it?

Beijing will hold the 2008 Olympic Games, and I know that London will hold the 2012 Olympic Games. I want to know the opinions of British people about the Olympics – what do they think Olympic means?   Dari, Beijing Foreign Languages University

In 2012 the Olympic Games will be held in London but how do Londoners feel about the impact the games will have on their city?

The subject has caused a lot of debate, as many people feel the expense of regenerating large parts of London is not worth it, and will end up being paid for by the British taxpayer.

Others see the games as an opportunity to modernise and develop some run-down areas of the city.
