Is the Title Race Over? 冠军角逐已经结束了吗？
The race for the Premiership title looks to be almost over after a thrilling weekend of football.
This weekend's action saw Chelsea nearly draw level 打平 with leaders Manchester United and the shock resignation 突然辞职 of one of the UK’s best loved managers.
Manchester United managed to go five points clear by beating Everton 4-2, while Chelsea were only able to draw 2-2 at home to Bolton Wanderers.
Nevertheless, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho refused to concede the title 承认夺冠无望(这里的concede意思是认输，比如：concede the match, etc), saying "mathematically there is a chance…but it is almost lost, almost".
Mourinho summed up 总结 the game as lacking quality but he said there was "a lot of heart", meaning that even though his team did not play well technically, they tried hard and put in a lot of effort.
Bolton are now fifth in the Premiership and chasing a place 力争一个名额 in next year’s Uefa tournament.
Sammy Lee, Bolton’s then assistant manager said he was "delighted to get another point", adding that his team were able to respond to Chelsea because they "got into their faces 直接的进攻 a bit more in the second half".
But despite their team’s good performance, Bolton fans were shocked when the team manager Sam Allardyce announced his immediate resignation 辞职立即生效 at the end of the game.
Allardyce’s decision to quit the club surprised players as well as fans because Bolton have had a successful season.
Bolton midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulous said he was "shocked" and "speechless 目瞪口呆，无话可说" by the news.
Allardyce was shortlisted 列入候选名单 to become England manager following Sven Goran Eriksson’s departure last year, and has already been linked to 和…相连 other Premiership clubs including Manchester City and Newcastle United.
He has been replaced by Sammy Lee until the end of the season.
