We give advice to all our Year 1 students about university applications but we have a special programme for those who want to apply to Oxford or Cambridge beginning in January of their first year.

We take them on special visits, provided solely for our college, to both Oxford and Cambridge in March of their first year.

We then have a conference for them at our college in April to which we invite admissions tutors from the 2 universities. The tutors work with the students and their parents in order to portray as helpful a picture of the 2 universities as they can.

Then in the summer term of their first year we take them to Open Day visits at both universities, entailing an overnight stay in their chosen college, to help them to decide if they wish to apply.

We set a lot of extra work for them to do in their main subject during the summer holiday.

All of this activity, specifically aimed at them personally, gives them a very clear idea about whether they should apply or not. We wait for their AS-level results in mid-August to confirm whether they will apply.

We then give them a great deal of help with their personal statements, especially if they are international students. We also give them very specific individual advice about which college they should apply for, depending on their chosen subject, strengths and interests.

During the Autumn term we have sessions about interviews and we arrange for all students to have one or more ‘mock’ interviews in their main subject areas. We also give them a copy of an important sheet to fill in when they go to interview. This asks them to write a full report on their interview, which then becomes an invaluable document to help the next generation of students who will apply to the same college for the same course.

They then go for interview, receive their offer (if they are fortunate) and we then start the process again for the next year.

从一年级开始，我们就为准备报考牛津、剑桥大学的础-尝别惫别濒学生，进行一系列的特别辅导和帮助。

础-尝别惫别濒课程9月开学。次年3月，我们学院组织对牛津剑桥感兴趣的一年级学生，到这两所大学进行专门为我们准备的访问活动。

4月，我们邀请牛津和剑桥负责招生的导师们，在我们学院举办一场讨论会。对这两所大学感兴趣的学生以及他们的家长，可以利用这次机会充分地了解这两所大学。

5月，我们学院组织学生们参加这两所大学的‘开放日’，并在他们所选择的学院里过夜，帮助他们做出最终的申请决定。

暑假里，我们为这些学生准备额外的暑期作业。

学生此时应当很明确自己是否仍然对牛津或剑桥大学感兴趣。与此同时。我们等待8月中旬出来的第一年的成绩，来确定他们能否申请这两所大学。

在填写大学申请表时，我们给海外学生特别指导，尤其是填写大学报名表的“个人陈述”部分。我们也会对报考牛津或剑桥的学生进行单独指导，帮助他们在众多学院中选择适合他们的。

秋季础-尝别惫濒别濒课程第二年开始后，我们会帮助学生提高面试技巧，并给每个学生一次“模拟面试”的机会。

他们去牛津剑桥面试的时候，我们会请学生把面试的内容记录下来。这对下一年准备报考同一学院同一专业的考生来说，会是一份宝贵的资料。

学生们通过面试，幸运的话拿到入学通知书。我们又要开始为下一年的新生作准备了。
