On the day after the resignation of Sir Jeffrey Donaldson from the leadership of the DUP, the presenter conducted an interview with the 大象传媒鈥檚 Ireland Reporter about the ongoing story.听 A viewer objected the presenter鈥檚 description of it as 鈥渁 hugely significant story in Ireland鈥, on the grounds that its significance was for Northern Ireland and the UK, not Ireland as a whole.听 The ECU considered the complaint in the light of the 大象传媒鈥檚 editorial standards of accuracy.
Outcome
In her first answer the Ireland Reporter said 鈥淪ir Jeffrey Donaldson was a leader who London and Dublin could do business with, the proof being the restoration of power-sharing here at Stormont in recent weeks鈥.听 In the ECU鈥檚 view, this warranted the presenter鈥檚 reference to the story being 鈥渟ignificant鈥n Ireland鈥.听
