Complaint
A viewer complained remarks made by the then leader of the Reform party Richard Tice following the results of two by elections were not challenged and questioned why other parties were not given the same opportunity to comment. 聽The ECU considered whether the broadcast met the 大象传媒 requirements for due impartiality.
Outcome
Mr Tice gave his view on the reason for his party鈥檚 strong showing in one of the seats, a performance a reporter referred to as 鈥渞别肠辞谤诲-产谤别补办颈苍驳鈥. 聽In the ECU鈥檚 view it was part of the reporter鈥檚 job to highlight points of interest or note and there was, on that basis, no obvious reason why other parties should necessarily have featured.聽 Viewers would understand Mr Tice was offering a personal political viewpoint.
