Complaint
A viewer complained there was no one on the panel to represent the Palestinian point of view. The ECU considered whether the programme met the requirements for due impartiality set out in the 大象传媒 Editorial Guidelines.
Outcome
The panel consisted of the government minister Jeremy Quin MP, the Labour frontbencher Nick Thomas Symonds MP, Camilla Cavendish of the Financial Times, Marie van der Zyl, President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews and the Artificial Intelligence entrepreneur, Mustafa Suleyman. 聽As is usual with Question Time a number of subjects were raised. The first and most extensively discussed subject was Artificial Intelligence and how it should be regulated, the next whether there should be a ceasefire in Gaza. 聽Although the programme cannot be expected to devise a panel which generates a difference of opinion on every subject, it was obviously important on the subject of the Gaza conflict that the programme reflected differing public opinion. 聽In the ECU鈥檚 view the contrasting opinions expressed during the discussion on Gaza ensured the programme met the editorial requirement to be duly impartial.
