Complaint
A viewer complained the 大象传媒 had shown bias against Rangers FC because 鈥渘o interviews with the team or Manager were carried out prior to or after they won the Scottish Cup鈥.
Outcome
The ECU noted 大象传媒 Scotland and Rangers had聽been involved in a long-running dispute one of the consequences of which is that Rangers鈥 staff and players did聽not give broadcast interviews to the 大象传媒. 聽On the morning of the Cup Final, the Editor of 大象传媒 Sport Scotland held talks with the club, where it became clear Rangers intended to maintain its policy not to provide any one-to-one interviews with the 大象传媒. 聽This, rather than any lack of impartiality on the 大象传媒鈥檚 part, accounted for the absence of any contribution from Rangers鈥 staff or players on the day of the Final. The 大象传媒鈥檚 commitment to due impartiality was, however, apparent throughout its coverage of the Final; for example, the studio guests included two former Rangers players.
