Complaint
This edition of Wales Today included coverage of the publication of an Interim report by the Independent Commission on the Constitutional Future of Wales. A viewer complained the programme failed to mention the option of the abolition of the Senedd and its replacement with a 鈥渄evolution of power鈥. The ECU considered if it met 大象传媒 standards of due impartiality.
Outcome
The ECU understood that the option of abolishing the Senedd was not considered or presented by the Commission which is why the issue did not arise in the coverage on Wales Today. Due Impartiality, which is a requirement of the 大象传媒鈥檚 Editorial Guidelines, is subject to the context of the output, and in this case there was no requirement for the programme to mention an issue not included in the Interim Report.
