Art - Non-profit making online gallery |

Are
you an artist struggling to market your work? Do you find that once
you have paid for all your materials and the gallery has taken its
commission you are left with nothing?
Soul destroying isn't it? Well, look no further... |

Artists
living in Cornwall are well aware of the difficulty in making money
from their work.
Those who do manage to break through into the commercial market still
find that the majority of their formative years of creating and selling
work are spent simply 'breaking even'.
Many artists find that after the gallery fees and production costs,
they are left with very little.

Conclusion
of a Lie by painter Luke Owen |
Imagine
then, a non-profit organisation that enables artists to sell their
work by cutting out the middleman.
Imagine only having to pay a yearly subscription of 拢200 with
which all the marketing side of things is done for you.
Imagine being able to
print on demand and leave all packaging and posting up to someone
else with no commission on the sale and no deposit. Sound
too good to be true?
Enter
Oakapple Art.
Jodieanne English, managing director explains the philosophy behind
Oakapple Art; "We looked to see what artists needed most in Cornwall
and that was to find a way that they could market and sell their artwork,
whilst concentrating on their new creations with minimal expense."

The
advantage of Oakapple Art as opposed to a local gallery is the exposure
you gain. The website enables you to reach not only a local audience,
but a national and international clientele.
You will also find that most online galleries also charge a similar
commission to walk-in galleries, even though their overheads are much
lower. This is why the concept behind Oakapple Art is so unique.
Oakapple Art also actively encourages communication between you and
your buyer once an original piece has been sold. At this stage Oakapple
Art steps out of the equation giving you the opportunity to correspond
with your buyer, something often not possible through gallery purchases.
The website has been live since the end of February
2005 and is already creating considerable interest.
See for yourself.
