Meet Martin Bailie

Martin keeps you company in the afternoon, with music and features. He rounds up the day's news and information too, Monday to Friday 3-6pm, on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Cornwall.

Belfast born Martin Bailie is our man in the afternoons.

He produces and presents the three hour show each weekday from 3pm. There's music and features, and the final hour is dedicated to the news of the day.

Martin Bailie

"It should answer theÌý '… whatever happened to that story we heard about this morning'…syndrome," says Martin.

He has over 26 years experience in the business and was an award winning radio and television presenter and chat show host in South Africa.

Martin says the job isn't about being difficult and asking rude questions, but is about asking the question that everyone wants answered… or to keep asking it until it's answered.

Needless to say he loves the style of the man he calls 'Rottweiler Paxman ' but considers himself more of an Irish Terrier.

As well as news, travel, weather, sport, what's on, interviews and debates Martin also tries to catch out listeners each night with the five questions of the News Quiz.

He dreams of doing a TV version of his radio show, but one look at that receeding hairline would put any producer off the idea.

Martin is married and he and his wife have a teenage daughter. They live in Truro.
