While she is away Tassy is keeping a blog on the 大象传媒 Cornwall website. Thursday 23 October 2008I woke up this morning with the sound of wind and waves outside our bedroom window. I quickly remembered that I was in Hawaii not at home lying in my bed on the shelf. Joel was soon at our bedroom door knocking. This would be our wake up call for the next month, but hopefully no earlier! It was 6am. Tassy's new Hawaiian board Apparently Josh and Arron had been up for hours as a result of jet-lag, but it hadn't seemed to have caught George, Beth and I up yet. We were quickly motivated by the sound of the waves (it sounded pretty solid) and the sun that seemed to be just poking its head out of the clouds already (at home it would be like a dark hole for at least another hour or so). Beth and I waxed and finned up our boards and headed out onto Rocky Point for our first surf of 'The Surf Solutions Hawaiian Experience 2008'. It looked about 2ft bigger than we had all expected, making it a solid 4ft, maybe 5 on the sets.听 After finishing here, Ted's Bakery will be next on our 'To Do' list.听This afternoon we cruised up to Velzeyland to pick up our big wave boards from Jeff Bushman. They all feel really good so we spent a good hour (after going for lunch at a bakery in Haleiwa) stickering them up and making them look good too. Hopefully we'll get to use these soon in some more solid, challenging waves than we get back home.
