When it comes to entertainment in Cornwall Shane Solomon is a well known personality, having recorded several albums, DVDs and performed at many venues in the South West. Now the singer has joined forces with 大象传媒 Radio Cornwall's lunchtime presenter Laurence Reed to record a charity record in aid of the Precious Lives Appeal, which 大象传媒 Radio Cornwall is supporting during 2008. The 大象传媒 is not responsible for the content of external websites On Saturday 29 November Laurence Reed and Shane Solomon performed live on stage courtesy of Paddy McGuinness and Johnny Cowling at the Hall for Cornwall. The 大象传媒 is not responsible for the content of external websites The single has been recorded in Shane's own studio near St Austell called 'Turn It Around Records'. See the photo gallery showing Shane and Laurence recording together. Well over 拢250,000 has already been raised for the appeal to build a hospice in St Austell, by 大象传媒 Radio Cornwall listeners. Now it's hoped the charity song will help to add to that already impressive total. The official launch was on 大象传媒 Radio Cornwall's Breakfast Show with James Churchfield. Shane and Laurence then headed out on a ten town tour around Cornwall to promote the charity single. The tour started in Lemon Quay just after 1pm on Tuesday 18 November. Shane and Laurence performed the single live, with some help from local school children. If you missed it, hear it again on the link below:
Help playing audio/video The single is already gaining momentum ahead of its release. The Butlins entertainment crew at Minehead have added The Lion Sleeps Tonight by Shane and Laurence to their playlist.
