While she's away the teenager is keeping a regular blog on the 大象传媒 Cornwall website. Read her latest entry and see earlier diaries from Hawaii and Portugal. Wednesday 18 February 2009So the swell has finally arrived and it's not waist high anymore. I was woken up by Beth jumping on me this morning alerting me to the fact that the surf was pumping. I wasn't so sure seeing as I had heard that from Gwen earlier in the week at around the same stupid time in the morning when it definitely wasn't true! I got out of bed out of curiosity and to my amazement it actually was pumping. It was around 4ft and glassy. Tassy on her bike Oceanside is the name of the town we are living in and Oceanside Jetty is the name of the surf spot straight in front of our condo. The spot is well known for good consistent waves on every sort of swell. The jetties at either end of the beach make good shelter from the wind so you can always find a clean peak somewhere along the mile 戮 mile stretch. On the downside the well known dangers of the beach are the pollution after rain and some strong rip currents. The surf reports are looking good for the whole of this week now meaning our regime for the day is going to be: up early for a surf straight out front, Roj will shoot while it is glassy until the wind picks up in the afternoon, by which time we'll head over to the pier to sit on some cleaner wedgy peaks.
