What a fabulous site. My husbands ancestors are mainly from St Germans and St Ive. Our Ancester William Cock and his father Christopher and families were all born St Germans. How about some photos of this are.

Have visited many times as Cornwall is my parents home. I was born in the U.S. I still have relatives in the Penponds villiage area where my wife Joanna, daughter Kelly and grandson Tim have visited Cornwall as well. It is a lovely area with always something new to see and enjoy.

Having Cornish ancestors, I had always wanted to visit. This summer, my son and I made the trip. What a beautiful and special place! The weather kept us guessing what to wear each day, however the scenery was breathtaking and rejuvenating to the soul. Definitely a place to return to again some day!

My Grandmother was born in Red Ruth and I seem to have a longing in my heart for the area. I now have friends in Carn Marth who keep me up-to-date on all things Cornish. I enjoy all of the pictures and history that they make available to me. Someday, I hope to visit Cornwall and especially Red Ruth.

Elena Benedettini from Italy, living in Ireland
absolutly sublime

My dad was born near Carn brea in 1914. He came to the US with his brother and my grandparents when he was twelve. I visited Cornwall with him in 1984. I understand why he still wishes he was there.

Though I am originally from the UK I never had a chance to see as much of it as I would have liked. My father was in the army and we were overseas most of the time. I have always wanted to go to Cornwall. I don't know why, but it seems as if it just calls to me, also the Scottish Highlands.

MJ Warsinsky born in ohio, usa now in Virginia, usa
my ancestor Burgess left Cornwall in 1657. Before I knew that I was attracted to Cornish history. Must be a genetic longing!?

Pat van der Veer, born in Liverpool
For three years we lived overlooking this area. We purchased a granite house, that had been built by Botallack mine for one of their Mine Superintendents. My husband and I had both resigned from high stress Policing positions in Vancouver and moved back to this beautiful and enchanted area...The people and the area restored our spirits and faith...Despite the shock of seeing the run down condition of the house, when we arrived, we turned it, with the help of local people, into a lovely home. I started writing poetry and am still writing a book. A window in our life was opened by West Penwith and West Cornish people. That window will never close..The area still gives me goosebumps and one day we will return for good.

What's your name and where are you from?
