My father lives with my step mother and two young sisters and me and my girlfriend travel down every summer and always insist on visiting Looe because it's beautiful in the summer and winter in the day and at night! Great ice cream and fudge too! Yum!

JON FROM CANVEY ESSEX
I JUST LOVE IT

Lily Lacey
Love the photos of Looe, they bring back many happy memories.

Lucy, Looe
I'm from Looe and have only in the last few years left it to go away to university. I think being away from it and looking back at photos like these makes me appreciate just how beautiful it can be. However it's sadly rapidly changing as it becomes more and more tourist focused. I notice there aren't any photos of East Looe main street in the summer with buckets and spades being sold outside Somerfield. I think its a shame for it to lose its natural character, and for photos like these to be all we have left of beautiful Looe.

anna parker im from cullompton
over the past years ive visited Looe quite alot my mum always loved it their and aways said that when she dies she wanted her ashes to go there. So now when i visit i Know we are not alone we are there as a family again.

Sheila (Cheltenham)
Thanks for the great photos! Though I have moved away, I still love to visit my dad who runs a little Italian..... sorry, but I get free lasagne if I tell people about it. I recomend everyone to visit Cornwall, paradise on your doorstep!

Anne Allen, Anne's sandwich bar. East Looe
I have lived and worked in East Looe for 14 years, now retired have met thousands of visitors in the 10 years i owned Anne's (annie's) sandwich bar and every single one of my customers loved Looe. it is a heavenly place to live and my customers, (holiday makers) all agree and can't wait to come back the following year. I have seen holiday makers in tears when thier time has come to leave. I am so lucky.

kevin, Hull, East Yorks.

I have travelled to the other side of the world and seen some wonderful sites, however none compare to Cornwall and it's magical, rugged coastline. My home town Looe stays so very close to my heart! Thank you. (I will inform Cornish friends abroad of these amazing pictures that cature Looe so well,Oh! How they will pine on viewing!!)

I was raised in Looe and left there around the age of 10. My father still lives there and gives my wife and I a good excuse to drive down as often as possible. My mum lived on Looe Island and dad used to row across in those 'courting days!" Looe will always feels like home.

Abigail, from Worthing in West Sussex
Like everyone else who has made comments here, I absolutely love Looe and regard it as a second home. One day, I'll fulfil my dream and move there! In the meantime, I'll have to be satisfied with holidays twice a year. (Love the photos, by the way!)

I have been going to Looe since I was about 4. My Uncle lives across the ferry in Torpoint. Looe, Polperro, Fowey, I love the place. We have just actually got back from a week in Looe, it was mour "first family holiday". I used to go there every year with mom and dad and now it is my daughter's turn. My boyfriend loved the place, his mom and dad always took him to scotland as a kid. I would love to live there, a different way and pace of life.

Me and my wife have just had our first child, so not wanting to go abroad with a young baby we choose Looe as our first family holiday. We are going to go back next year as the place is just so welcoming and peaceful. P.S, Spain can wait............

My family and I had a wonderful weeks holiday in Cornwall where we stayed in a holiday park close to Looe. Looe is a wonderful attractive place and we really enjoyed our holiday there.

I love cornwall it's like heaven on earth.

Philip Pridmore, East Liverpool, Ohio.
I lived in the West Midlands for 30 years and spent 2 weeks every year for at least 20 of those years on holiday at LOOE. I love the place. It always seemed like home.

Steve Pennell from Burnley, Lancashire.
I have been to Looe 8 or 9 times now. As we drive past Looe bay holiday park and drop down into Looe, past the doctors surgery I have a feeling of peace and that I am home. I eagerly look into the river to see if the tide is in or out. To park on the main car park as close to the exit near the chandlers shop, so that I can hasten my visit into East Looe. We walk over the bridge, looking down the river at the small vessels, smell the air and listen to the gulls. Utopia. What beautiful photo鈥檚, I can鈥檛 wait to go back to Looe.

These are delightful photos of that wonderfully Cornish Looe. They are not (quite) the usual 'postcard' views.
