Since members of The Specials re-formed to play a surprise set at this year's Bestival on the Isle of Wight, there have been many rumours and whispers as to whether the band would tour in 2009...

Well, 2-Tone fans recently had an early Christmas present when The Specials announced a mini tour for 2009 - and the two Birmingham dates sold out within hours of the tickets going on sale.

The 8-day tour kicks off in Newcastle on 22 April 2009 and takes in Sheffield, Glasgow, Manchester and London.

And after fans cried out for a Coventry date, we can now announce that The Specials will be playing the Jaguar Exhibition Hall at the Ricoh Arena on Friday, 15 May 2009.

The line-up will see Terry Hall, Horace Panter, Lynval Golding, Neville Staple, Roddy Byers, and John Bradbury together again.

So dust off your pork pie hats and get practicing your skank moves as 2009 is promising to be a great year for the Coventry band and its followers.
