A new competition is inviting children and youngsters to design a poster about North Warwickshire, which will be used in the borough council's publicity.

The Art Alert competition is asking children and young people aged up to 18 to design a poster about North Warwickshire. The poster can celebrate the best aspects of the area or can show what needs to be improved.
Poster ideas
To help your poster design, you might like to draw some of the following:
Your favourite place - like a park or playground A special building Your favourite animal Historic connections - like mining and hat making Your favourite tree or flower An important subject - like recycling, pollution or litter
Posters can also include council slogans - like North Warwickshire: why not take a closer look - or you can think up your own slogan.

The competition is being divided into four age groups, as explained below, with three prizes in each category. The winners from all the groups will be invited to a special prize-giving event at the council house in Atherstone.
All the posters will also be on display at the Family Wildlife Day at Shustoke Reservoir on Sunday, 1 June 2003 and may be used in other council publicity.
